Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has reportedly written a letter to the Union civil aviation minister recommending the renaming of two airports of the state.
In his letter to civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu, CM HDK recommended renaming the Hubballi airport to Rani Chennamma and the Belagavi airport to Sangolli Rayanna. Rani Chennamma and Sangolli Rayanna are two iconic figures from the North Karnataka region.
HDK also stated, in his letter, that both these leaders fought during the Indian freedom struggle.
