Coastal institutions shine bright in NIRF ranking

Bengaluru: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2017 which was released on Monday again proved that coastal districts of the state are nurturing some of the best institutions of the country.

Several educational institutions of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada were able to feature in the list of top 100 institutions under various categories in the ranking.

In the pharmacy education category with the over all score of 59.64, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences has secured 7th ranking in the all India level. N.G.S.M. Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mangalore has secured 27th rank.

According to the report, under the Universities category, with an over all score of 48.27, Manipal Academy of Higher Education-Manipal has secured 18th rank. Nitte University with overall score of 35.50, have secured 83rd rank. Under over all category with the score of 48.27, Manipal University has secured 30th rank. NITK-Suratkal has secured 67th rank. Under the Engineering colleges category NITK-Suratkal has secured 22 rank. Manipal Institute of Technology has secured 43th place in the country with a score of 45.38. Under management category, none of the colleges/ universities from the coastal Karnataka featured in top 100 institutions.

Under colleges category, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Managalore has secured 44th rank while Sri D. Manjunatheswara College, Ujire has secured 71st rank.
