Bengaluru: With the land allocated for setting up of modern cocoon markets in Kalaburagi and Haveri, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has instructed the officials to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) within a month.
He was chairing a review meeting for implementation of budget programmes in the Agriculture Department. Instructing the officials to submit the proposal for upgrading the Sidlaghatta Cocoon market, he informed that payment of Rs. 10,000 per ton subsidy for Bivoltine cocoons have been approved. He ordered the release of the same to beneficiaries through the DBT system.
Agriculture Minister B. C. Patil, Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma and other senior officials were present.
