Bengaluru: In response to popular demand, the BBMP has decided to introduce Coffee and Tea along with usual breakfast in all Indira canteens in the city from January 1, 2019.
The BBMP has decided to charge Rs 5 per cup of tea and coffee. “It will not be subsidised,” said a BBMP officer.
“But, the highlight of this scheme is that everyone will get a Vada for free with a cup of tea or coffee,” he added.
According to the BBMP sources, since day one, there was a demand for the provision of tea and coffee with breakfast at the Indira canteens. A survey conducted by the BBMP revealed that 80% of the canteens’ customers want coffee and tea. This decision has be made with this survey’s results in mind,” informed an officer privy to the developments.
