Mangaluru: District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai defending the district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai on Kalladka row said that there was nothing offensive about the minister’s conversation with SP whose video went viral. Ramanath Rai as in-charge minister had urged the superintendent of police to take action against those do communally inciting speeches and provoke violence in the society.

He also said that Ramanath Rai was an efficient leader who had been MLA for 6 times. “He is always against the communal forces be it from majority or minority communities. Even in future, he will oppose such communal forces. Ramanath Rai will never involve caste politics.”

Slamming RSS leader Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in a press meet, he said that Bhat was giving various versions to the media on Mithun Poojary who is one of the accused in the Kalladka clash. “In his speeches we can never find he is praising Muslims or Christians. I am ready to take political retirement if you find that in any of the speeches he has praised Muslims or Christians. Prabhakar Bhat is RSS and BJP leader but he is not a Hindu leader.”

He also questioned why BJP was silent in the murder case of Vinayaka Baliga, Harish Poojary? “These so called protectors of Hindutva have murdered Vinayaka Baliga. Mithun Poojary and Buvith Shetty are the accused in the murder of Harish Poojary. Why Mithun Poojary is still absconding? Prabhakar Bhat wants such youths with him to create tension in the society and gain political mileage. When elections approach, the communal violence begins. BJP wants clashes for the vote. Hindutva is only weapon BJP uses to fight the elections”, he said.

Corporator Praveen Chandra Alva and others were present.
