Bengaluru: In a move that could have a positive impact on the policing in the city, police commissioner Alok Kumar asked the police inspectors to remain in the stations between 4.30 PM and 6 PM to listen to the grievances of the general public.
According to the police commissioner, the traffic inspectors must be in the stations between 5 PM and 6 PM.
Police sources said that the commissioner sent a direction to all the inspectors in this regard.
“Every day, thousands of people approach the police helpline 100 seeking help. The main problem is the non-availability of police officers at the stations. Keeping this in mind, the commissioner sent this direction,” said a senior officer.
“As per the plan, the officers must listen to the public’s grievances and ensure early solution for the same,” he added.
