Computacenter, a UK-based tech solutions provider, has launched its new global capability centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. This state-of-the-art office accommodates over 3,300 seats and signifies a strategic expansion of Computacenter’s footprint in India. Currently, the company operates in Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram.

Rapid Growth and Future Plans: “Computacenter’s journey in India has grown from zero employees to 1,800 in just four and a half years. To support this growth, we have established our own space with the GCC in Bengaluru. We aim to increase our employee count from 1,800 to 3,600 in the next three years,” said Mike Norris, Group CEO at Computacenter.

Strategic Importance of India: Norris emphasized that leading IT service and solution providers are opening their GCCs in India due to its potential as a hub for technological innovation and skilled talent. “India is a strategic location for us, and we will continue to expand our presence here over the coming years,” he stated. A PwC report highlighted that 1,600 GCCs in India generated a staggering $46 billion in revenue between 2015-2023.

Advanced Facilities: The Bengaluru facility will feature advanced customer briefing centres and technology showcases, enhancing Computacenter’s engagement with its clients in India. The company assists businesses with technology sourcing by arranging competitive structures, integration, and supply chain services. Its focus areas include workplace technologies, modern device management, cloud and data centre technologies, and network & security.

Industry Leadership and Digital Transformation: “We have the highest service content and are geographically widespread. Our gross income exceeds £10 billion, about $12.5 billion, focusing on large enterprise customers,” Norris mentioned. He added that GCCs are pivotal in driving a company’s digital transformation strategy. The global acceptance of remote capabilities has increased, facilitating efficient service delivery and leveraging top technical skills regardless of location.

AI and Future Trends: Norris noted that AI is currently dominating the IT services landscape, reshaping industries and driving strategic thinking. While there is enthusiasm around AI, many companies are cautiously observing the market to determine the best approach.

Computacenter’s expansion in Bengaluru underscores its commitment to leveraging India’s technological potential and skilled workforce to drive innovation and growth.
