Bengaluru: Karnataka state minister of water resources DK Shivakumar had called a meeting at his government residence near Crescent road on Thursday, October, 4. However, absence of some of the Congress party heavyweights left eyebrows raised.
Though DKShi said that the meet intended to make some important decisions for the betterment of the people of the state, Congress leaders like former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLA Ramesh Jharakiholi and others stayed away from the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) Parameshwar, MLA R V Deshpande, MLC Jayamala, MLA R Shankar, KPCC working President Eshwar Khandre attended the meeting, giving a sense of divide within the party.
When questioned about Siddaramaiah’s absence in this meeting, Shivakumar justified saying that the meeting was held as per the guidance of Siddaramaiah and that he will be called if his presence is felt.
“Such meetings will be held in other MLAs’ and ministers’ residences as well in future, ” he said.
Shivakumar further clarified that as of now, there will be no changes in the portfolios allocated to the ministers.
