Bengaluru: The Tumakuru Congress district president was among four persons arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police following a raid on a guest house in Doddabidarakallu at Peenya in Bengaluru on Saturday, from where, allegedly, a prostitution racket was being run.
The police have identified the accused as Ramakrishna, alias Ravikumar, 49, Congress district president of Tumakuru who was caught as a customer at the guest house.
The police have identified the other accused as Raju, Mahantesh, and Shilpa, who were running the racket.
The CCB sleuths produced the accused before the court, and Ramakrishna was granted bail, while the other three accused were remanded in judicial custody.
The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), meanwhile, has expelled Ramakrishna.
