Bengaluru: Congress MLA Anjali Nimbalkar slammed the Karnataka government for closing schools and institutions in Bengaluru on Monday June 20 ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
She questioned whether school closures owing to traffic concerns resulting from PM Modi’s visit were justified.
Schools closed on Monday in Bengaluru due to Prime Ministers visit. Cited reason traffic. Is this even justified? How the so called educated class is tolerating this? Even media is not showing anything. What a joke education has become in Karnataka? she tweeted.

Nimbalkar also shared an image of a circular given to parents of students at a school in her tweet. It stated that the school is not functioning on Monday as a ‘precautionary measure.’
“We understand that there are likely to be major traffic restrictions due to the PM’s visit to Bengaluru on June 20. We are therefore closing school as a precautionary measure. Please note that we will not be offering online classes. We regret the inconvenience but prefer to err of the side of caution,” it read.
