Bengaluru/New Delhi: In a possible solution to the issue that has been plaguing the Congress party for the past few weeks, the high command has reportedly come up with a formula to decide who will become the next KPCC president.
If reports are be believed, the high command has decided that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will get four working presidents. These will be chosen from the SC, ST, minority and Lingayat/Vokkaliga communities. However, there is no indication as to who will be the next KPCC president.
This development comes after Congress leader and former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaioah went to New Delhi to meet with AICC interim-president Sonia Gandhi and for party national chief Rahul Gandhi.
During the meeting, it was reportedly decided that if the KPCC chief post goes to a leader from the Vokkaliga community, a Lingayat leader from the party will be made the working president.
If party leader D K Shivakumar is appointed as the KPCC president, incumbent working president Eshwar Khandre will retain his post. On the other hand, if former state minister and the Lingayat face of the party, M B Patil is made the party’s state chief, former state minister Krishna Byre Gowda will likely be appointed as a working president.

MLA and former minister D K Shivakumar, who has reportedly been lobbying hard for the post of KPCC president, has now said that he is not an aspirant of the position.
According to reports, he said that his name is not on the list and that the party high command will decide on the matter.
