Bengaluru: The Yelahanka flyover naming issue taken a new turn with a senior Congress leader and MLC UB Venkatesh demanding the naming the flyover by Vishwesha Tirtha seer of Pejavar mutt who passed away recently.
In a letter to the CM BS Yediyurappa, Venkatesh, a close aide of senior Congress leader Mallikharjun Kharge urged the state government to drop Veer Savarkar’s name for the flyover.
“Pejavar seer worked for all the communities and social reforms. His name is apt for this flyover. The state government should consider this,” he urged.
It can be recalled that the state government and the BBMP want to name the flyover after Veer Savarkar while Kannada organizations are opposing it.
