Bengaluru: BBMP Mayor Sampath Raj felicitated Constable Archana by presenting her a shawl and a sari on Saturday, June 23 and stated that he would refer her name for the Kempe Gowda Award.
“I have put in a word to the chief minister and the deputy chief minister,” he said adding that a decision was awaited.
It may be recalled that Archana won several hearts with her humanitarian act of breastfeeding a new-born baby that had been abandoned near an under construction building of Celebrity Layout, Doddathogoor on outskirts of Bengaluru city. Her kind act was even applauded by state chief minister Kumaraswamy.
However, the baby who was named as Kumaraswamy passed away a few days later due to some brain infection.
