Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Police, in association with Ramakrishna Mission, has launched a unique campaign to prevent people from violating lockdown guidelines by making violators hold placards which reads ‘ I am guilty: I have violated lockdown guidelines’.

Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked people to observe ‘Lockdown’ for 21 days to prevent spreading of COVID-19, people are still coming out from their homes citing silly reasons.

Even warnings from the police and district administration have fallen on deaf ears.

Considering this, Mangaluru city police, in association with the Ramakrishna Mission launched this unique campaign where they are making the violators hold placards.

Episodes of some violators trying to convince the police and the members of Ramakrishna mission not to make them hold the placards too were seen. However, it yielded no results as the cops and mission members failed to relent.

Police also educated the public about the need for following lockdown directions of the government and made them aware that the safety measures are in place to safeguard everyone from the clutches of the Corona Virus.
