Bengaluru: In a major embarrassment to Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi, her friend Ravi Shankar, a state transport department employee, has been arrested by the CCB police.
Additional commissioner of police, Sandeep Patil confirmed that Ravi Shankar was arrested and produced before the court.
Sources say that, in the police department, Ravi Shankar informed the investigating officers that he was in a live-in-relationship with Ragini. However, Ragini is yet to respond to his claims.
Ravi Shankar reportedly also shared a few explosive details with the investigating officers. The police have decided to expand the scope of their investigation based on his inputs.
It can be recalled that Ragini had been summoned by the CCB in connection with the Sandalwood drug abuse scandal, however, she did not appear before them. She has asked them to give her more time to depose before them.
