Corona impact: Karnataka govt postpones II PUC examination

Bengaluru: With mounting Covid-19 fear, the II PUC examination that was sceduled for March 23 has been postponed.

The state government had postponed the SSLC examination 2020 scheduled from March 27 onwards, on Sunday morning.

However, by evening, State Education Minister Suresh Kumar confirmed that even II PUC examinations too have been postponed.

In a tweet, Kumar said that though the state government was all set to conduct the II PUC examination, lockdown was clamped on nine district of the state.

Even then, separate bus service for II PUC students was worked out, but later on, when the pros and cons were weighed, the government decided to postpone the examination.

The Minister also said that a lot of children come to Karnataka schools from border areas. With the state sealing the borders, their lives will be in jeopardy.

“Hence the II PUC exams stand postponed,” said the minister.

The dates of the examination has not yet been announced.

The state is on alert after 21st Corona case was detected in Dharwad, on Sunday morning.
