Bengaluru: Imran Pasha, the BBMP corporator who recently tested positive for COVID-19, was arrested on Sunday for ‘celebrating’ his recovery with a precession.

TNM reports that the JD(S) leader and his supporters were seen taking a procession from the hospital to his home, bursting crackers on the way. In a video, Pasha was seen waving at his supporters from his car in the procession.

He was arrested on Sunday after the procession and produced in court for bail hearing, the JJ Nagar Police said.

Section 144 was imposed in Padarayanapura ward on June 7 and will continue till June 12. More than two people will not be allowed to step out at any given time and the health department guidelines have to be followed. No processions, not even for funerals. People will also not be allowed to carry weapons like knives or logs in the open.

It can be recalled that Pasha was arrested by the police a few weeks ago for not cooperating with the health officials when they came to take him to the hospital after he tested positive for COVID-19 on May 29.
