Bengaluru: Congress Legislator B Nagendra has been arrested for disrespecting the Special Court for Peoples Representatives by not responding to the summons issued by the court.
The court had issued summons to B Nagendra multiple times asking him to attend the hearings on the illegal mining case filed against him. However, Nagendra did not show himself up to the court, for which the court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him.
However, Nagendra appeared in the court on Monday, April 29 and the judge asked the police to take him into custody.
Nagendra is currently in the custody of the police and the judge has not spoken anything about his release. “You have disrespected the court by not appearing for the court hearings inspite of issuing summons multiple times. If you think that the non-bailable warrant will be revoked, that is not going to happen,” said the judge.
