Bengaluru: As many as 57364 kids in the age group of 0-6 years tested positive at the time of Covid – 19 second wave in the State and 271 children succumbed to the infection.

This data was shared by the State Legislature’s Standing Committee on Women and Child Welfare.

It can be recalled that experts fear children may be the worst sufferers in the possible Covid – 19 third wave.

The committee has directed the State Government to launch door-to-door survey of the children facing malnutrition problem and ensure separate quarantine facility for boys and girls in the event of any Covid – 19 outbreak.

The report alleged that there is a mafia behind the child beggary in the State. It asked the police to ban child beggary completely.
