Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar visited the Indira canteen in Nayandanahalli of the city on Thursday noon.

The complaint was made by the mayor Gangambika Devi.

At the time of his visit DCM Parameshwar spoke to a number of customers, especially those who visit the canteen every day.

A few informed the DCM that the hygiene is very poor in the canteen and the snack, lunch and dinner served at the canteen are very poor.

They asked the DCM why he had visited the canteen intimating the canteen in-charge. “Instead you must hold surprise visits,” they suggested.

Speaking to the reporters, DCM Parameshwar informed that he is aware of the issues and has directed the authorities to find immediate solution.

He informed that the contract company has been asked to ensure cleanliness and hygiene, besides maintaining quality of the food served to the customers.
