Bengaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in several parts of the country as the side effect of Cyclone ‘Bulbul’.
This is the seventh cyclone of 2019, after ‘Kyarr’ and ‘Maha’. The weather department, however, has predicted that this cyclone will not have a major effect on the weather, bringing a light relief for the people.
According to the IMD, the cyclone is unlikely to hit Karnataka. However, due the low pressure over the Indian Ocean, districts like Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Shivamogga and parts of the southern region of the state are likely to observe heavy downpour after November 8.
Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ will mainly affect Odisha, the coastal area of Andhra Pradesh and Bengal. It is also expected to spread across to Bangladesh.
