In a heartbreaking incident just past midnight on Sunday, a fast-moving container truck struck a motorcycle, killing two young individuals at the Kunigal bypass near Nelamangala, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The victims, Prajwal (25) of Srirampuram and Sahana (22) of Laggere, were both professional dancers. They were reportedly returning to the city after performing at an event around 12:30 am when the tragedy occurred.

The container lorry, which was transporting courier parcels, was en route from Bengaluru to Tumakuru, eventually heading towards Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, Prajwal and Sahana were riding towards Bengaluru from Kunigal.

As the bike approached the bypass, the lorry collided head-on with it, throwing the duo off balance. The truck then ran over them, leading to their immediate death on the spot.

Law enforcement officials quickly responded, taking the lorry driver into custody and seizing the vehicle involved. Authorities have registered a case under charges of reckless driving and causing death due to negligence.

This devastating accident has drawn attention to the growing concerns over speeding vehicles and lack of enforcement on city outskirts, especially during late-night hours. The sudden loss of two young talents from the dance community has left friends, family, and fellow performers in shock and grief.
