Bengaluru: Challenging star Darshan failed to appear before police on Friday, March 11, to register his statement regarding domestic violence case filed by his wife.
In a statement, actor said that his presence in the hospital is very much necessary where his ailing mother is getting treated.

According to police sources, actor informed to the CK Achchukatte police, where his wife registered case against him, that he will record his statement on Saturday as he is unable to do so now.

Meanwhile, State Women’s Commission Chairman Manjula Manasa has granted timeline to the actor to appear before the committee, which has registered suo motto harassment case against him, on humanitarian grounds due to his mother’s ill health.

According to film industry sources, actor is buying time to take proper legal assistance to get rid of the relationship smoothly.

Police protection has been provided to actor’s wife Vijayalaxmi based on her request as she might face threat from wild fan followers of the actor.

Interestingly, only a small number of his fan following stood in support of him this time compared to the earlier incident similar to this years back.

Industry insiders opined that actor is quite upset and frustrated as his series of his latest films bombed at box office. His last release ‘Virat’ pathetically failed at box office where it was removed within a week from the main theatre in Bangalore, which is considered as the worst performing movie after Darshan attained super stardom.

Eventually, this has disturbed him a lot and anyone could see a sea change in his behaviour, a close associate of Darshan said.

Darshan is expected to appear before police on Saturday, March 12, after offering special pooja at Chamundi temple at Mysore, a source said.

Ambareesh intervenes

Meanwhile, Veteran actor and Housing Minister Ambareesh on Friday intervened to ease marital discord between Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi.

Ambareesh spoke separately over phone to Darshan and Vijayalakshmi and advised them to forget differences, stay together and lead a happy life. He also suggested them not to speak to media as it would only worsen the situation.
