Davanagere: Harihara Block Education Officer B. C. Siddappa, who was accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 for the renewal of licence of a private school, has been arrested. He has been taken into custody by the Lokayukta Police.
Siddappa had demanded Rs 50,000 from Raghunath, the Head of Private School in Harihara, to renew the licence.
Earlier, he had received Rs. 10,000. Lokayukta SP M. S. Kaulapure, Lokayukta inspectors Anjaneya and other staff conducted the raid as well as took Siddappa into custody.
