Davanagere: As per the recommendations made by the Karnataka Evaluation Authority of the State Government and the Directorate of Social Audit on cleanliness and systematic management in connection with the mid-day meal scheme in schools, the Department of Public Instruction has decided to impart special training to the cooks of mid-day meal scheme in all schools in the State.
Akshara Dasoha District Education Officers of all educational districts of the State have been instructed to provide one-day training to the staff working in school kitchens in the current month itself. The training is being conducted at the Taluk level for which one person will be paid Rs. 100 per day. Akshara Dasoha has directed the education officers to bear the cost.
The specific work of the kitchen staff and the facilities available should be introduced. The training will be conducted through lectures and demonstrations by experts on various issues related to cooking and maintenance of cooking centres, including awareness of cleanliness, hygiene and safety measures in the kitchen centres and guidance on maintenance.
