Dengue menace: State govt to start awareness workshops for teachers

Bengaluru: The State government has hit upon a simple way to spread awareness about dengue among the people, through school teachers. The formula is to teach the teachers about precautions to be taken, and they will explain the same to their students.

The mosquito borne disease has affected thousands of people over the past few years in India alone. State government is organising awareness workshops for teachers in Bengaluru.

A local health officer Dr Lokesh said that the main motive is to see that how this school heads are made completely aware of what is the importance of larva, mosquito larva, how can you eliminate it with a co-operation with children.

The aim is to help students identify the larva or source from where the deadly mosquitoes breed in this season. They will be encouraged to inform school authorities about such locations where the concerned health officials can take appropriate action to eliminate them.

In Malleswaram area, some locals have started spreading awareness through where photographs of breeding mosquitoes can be sent.

BJP lawmaker CN Aswathnarayan informed that anywhere any person clicks a photograph of the breeding place we will get the location and time, where the breeding is taking place. By making use of the portal malleshwaram.sahaaya.in, we will try to eliminate the breeding places, he added.
