Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has predicted that the JD(S) will not win a single seat in this Lok Sabha election, whether it’s in Hassan, Mandya, or the seat contested by JD(S) Supremo HD Deve Gowda’s son-in-law, Dr. Manjunath.

Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar predicted that the regional party, which has formed an alliance with the BJP and is contesting on four seats, will not be able to secure one seat this time.

The JD(S) has fielded candidates from Hassan, Mandya, and Kolar, while in Bengaluru Rural, its candidate is contesting on the BJP symbol.

Shivakumar said that the party has given tickets to eight candidates belonging to the Vokkaliga community, including subsects of the community, and lashed out at Deve Gowda’s family, who claim that they enjoy the support of the Vokkaliga community.

Shivakumar lambasted JD(S) leaders for leveling allegations that his party is distributing gifts to voters to lure them into voting for his party, saying, “Whether I distributed them or not, did they not distribute them?” He asked the opposition. The deputy chief minister also expressed his displeasure with the media for being biased and not giving equal coverage to the Congress party.
