Deshpande submits proposal for more flights to state

Bengaluru: The State government has submitted a proposal to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to extend the flights which fly through Bengaluru- Hubballi-Mumbai thrice a week for all seven days.

Speaking to media persons here, Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development R V Deshpande said that tourists come even from foreign countries to Mysore and Goa. There is a need to connect these tourist spots. A request has been made to interconnect Hampi and Goa through the flight . Preparations are being made to establish an airport in Bidar.

Meanwhile, the minister claimed that the State has created 12.16 lakh jobs in past four and half years. Micro, Small and Medium (MSM) industries have created 10.28 lakh jobs and 1.88 lakh by the large industries. Within two years, the government would create 6.25 lakh more employment opportunities.

“To attract investors we have established ‘Invest Karnataka Forum’. This is a non-profitable company, where businessmen themselves attract investors. In attracting investment, Karnataka is No.1 place in the country,” he added.
