“Tipu Sultan was a great warrior and thinker. Devanahalli road should be named after him,” he said. His comment comes in the wake of protests across the state by BJP and pro-Hindu organisations opposing Tipu Jayanti.
BJP leaders carried out protests in Bengaluru opposing Tipu Jayanti on Thursday. BJP state president, B S Yeddyurappa said that the government was appeasing the minority community by celebrating Tipu Jayanti. “The state government is responsible for the pro-Hindu leaders killings,” he blamed.
