Bengaluru: The members and devotees of the Ramachandrapura math alleged on Monday that a conspiracy was on to malign the image of pontiff Raghaveshwarabharathi swamiji.
Raghavendra Madhyasta, manager of the mutt while addressing a press meet said that the state government has decided to withdraw the cases filed by the mutt against individuals, who had accused the seer of wrongdoing.
The State Cabinet withdrew a case against a person who threatened the seer with video clips that allegedly showed the seer in compromising positions. Recently, two cases against persons who had filed complaints against the seer were withdrawn, he said. The complainants were accused of threatening mutt members.
“It appears that the ploy is to ensure that the case of sexual assault against the seer continues, while the cases filed by the seer and his devotees are closed,” he added.
The recent government order stated that the criminal charges registered against those who accused the pontiff of sexual assault, be withdrawn. The members of the mutt alleged that the present state government was supporting the conspirators.
