Bengaluru: Congress fact-finding committee led by former DCM Dr. G Parameshwar has given a clean chit to ex-mayor Sampat Raj. The committee’s report on violence which rocked the city on August 11 points the finger at police intelligence failure. Parameshwar submitted the report to the KPCC president DK Shivakumar.
According to sources, the committee pointed out that anger among the locals against the NRC and CAA is also one of the trigger points.
The report blamed the intelligence failure for the flash violence which resulted in rampant damages and police firing which claimed four lives.
The report also urged the KPCC president to issue a warning to local Congress MLA Akhanda Shrinivasa Murthy for maintaining a distance with local Congress leaders who are with the Congress for decades. The report highlighted the issue of a gap between original and migrant leaders in the local party unit.
