Bengaluru: Four senior police officers, including DG-IGP Neelamani Raju, will be retiring today. The hot topic for discussion and speculation right now is who will be the new DG-IGP, as the state government is yet to announce Raju’s successor.

According to the home department authorities, DG-IGP Neelamani R Raju, M N Reddy, Raghavendra H Auradkar and P Rajendra Prasad are retiring today. This is the first time in recent years that four IPS officers are retiring in a single day.

Interestingly, the state government is yet to announce Raju’s successor. If sources are to be believed, A M Prasad is likely to be appointed as the in-charge IG-DGP.

“The final decision will be taken by the Union Government, as it wants a new face for the post,” sources added.
