Bengaluru: On Friday, retired police officer G A Bava was supposed to have taken charge as the new chairman of the state minority commission at 4 PM. This was, however, allegedly stopped by senior Congress leaders.
According to sources, the commission chairman’s post has been vacant since the past one year. The KPCC had recommended former minister H M Hindasageri for the post but minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan allegedly managed to get his friend, Bava the post by using his renewed friendship with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Irked by this, a few Congress leaders alerted the AICC leadership in New Delhi, who stopped Bava from taking charge of the commission.
Bava has, however, informed that he was not able to take charge as he reached the commission office late.
