Bengaluru: Contrary to expectations, both Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and his deputy Dr G Parameshwara gave a miss to the Tipu Jayanti celebrations. While the CM gave cited his poor health as the reason, Dr G Parameshwar left for Singapore instead of attending the Jayanti celebrations.
Now, the political circles are abuzz with the rumors that PWD minister HD Revanna stopped both the leaders from attending the Tipu Jayanti celebrations as per the suggestion of his personal astrologer.
According to the sources, HD Revanna wanted both the leaders to stay away from the event, fearing that it may pose a danger to the state government. “First, he forced his brother to go on leave by citing poor health conditions as the reason. Later, he convinced DCM Dr G Parameshwara not to attend the event,” said sources privy to the developments.
“When the Kannada and Culture department approached the DCM for the event inauguration, he had agreed. But later, he changed his mind. There was also no official event in Singapore,” said sources.
