Bengaluru: Following high blood pressure and fluctuating sugar levels, senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar was admitted to Apollo Hospital, Sheshadripuram on Friday, November 1.
Shivakumar reportedly showed symptoms of tiredness and fever after which he was rushed to the hospital. He was immediately medicated in order to stabilize his blood pressure.
Doctors have also advised DKShi to undergo tests for dengue and chikungunya as well.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, Apollo Hospital General Physician Dr Shankar V said, “Ideally, the platelet count must be 1.5 lakh. He has just around 88,000. He also has swollen ankles. He has a mild fever and body ache as well.”
Dr Shankar further said that DKShi had told them that there had been several mosquitoes in the Tihar Jail.
It can be recalled that the Congress leader had been under in custody until he was granted bail by the Delhi High Court in an alleged money laundering case on October 23.
“He is also being tested for viral arthralgia. Although he is a diabetic, his sugar levels are under control,” Dr Shankar added.
Doctors have also diagnosed DKShi with a bad lumbar disk that remains to be treated.
According to doctors, he is on fluids right now and an MRI scan has also been scheduled for Saturday, November 2.
