Ramanagara: The anticipation of election results is weighing heavily on every politician’s mind. One day prior to the counting begins, Channapatna MLA and BJP candidate C P Yogeshwar seems to be contemplating defeat.
“I could have won easily from other parties. Power Minister D K Shivakumar and his brother fielded H M Revanna due to their rivalry against me. So, I may win by a smaller margin”, alleged Yogishwar.
Addressing media at a private hotel here on May 14, Yogeshwar said, “In Channapatna everyone conspired to beat me. H D Kumaraswamy joined hands with D K Shivakumar to end my political career. Anyhow, only Kumaraswamy is my opponent. I will win by a smaller margin.”
“Winning elections would have been easy if I was in some other party. However, I still stand by my decision to contest from BJP and I will remain in BJP in future as well”, he added.
He further alleged that he lost Dalit and backward class votes due to dummy Congress candidate Transport Minister H M Revanna. “He came like a ‘Supari Killer’ and in fact, DKS Brothers gave supari against me”, he claimed.
“For me this election was indispensable. It was a ‘do or die’ situation. I had to face HDK and DKS”, he said.
