Bengaluru: Within a few hours after his arrest was announced, Congress leader and former state minister D K Shivakumar took to social media to hit back at the BJP and console his supporters and well-wishers.
Taking to Twitter, DKShi first attacked his “BJP friends”, congratulating them for “finally being successful in their mission” of arresting him.
“The IT and ED cases against me are politically motivated and I am a victim of BJP’s politics of vengeance and vendetta,” he alleged.

Then, consoling his supporters and colleagues, he wrote, “I appeal to my party cadre, supporters and well-wishers to not be disheartened as I have done nothing illegal. I have full faith in God & in our country’s Judiciary and am very confident that I will emerge victorious both legally and politically against this vendetta politics.(sic)”
D K Shivakumar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday evening, in connection with an alleged money laundering case. Several Congress and other leaders have voiced out their disapproval of the move and have accused the Central Government of using the arrest to distract the public from the economic slowdown.
