Bengaluru: In a development that has irked the supporters of former CM Siddaramaiah in the Congress, the Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development minister Dr G Parameshwar advised party leaders to desist from issuing statements like ‘Siddaramaiah is our next CM.’
While it may not be connected to the current guidelines, it may be recalled that Siddaramaiah and Dr G Parameshwar do not see eye to eye on many issues.
Speaking to the reporters in New Delhi after meeting party leader Ahmed Patel, Parameshwar said that the high command had taken a serious view of these statements and had issued a directive to refrain from such statements.
“Party Karnataka in charge KC Venugopal has already directed KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao to warn those leaders and MLAs who give public statements that “Siddaramaiah is our next CM”. Issuing such statements are not Congress culture,” he said.
He also stated that Congress-JDS alliance will continue in the Lok Sabha election. ” Final guidelines and a seat-sharing formula will be released soon,” he said.
