DPI set to hold classes on weekends to complete syllabus

Bengaluru: The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is all set to hold classes for the students even on Saturdays and Sundays to complete the syllabus.

As per the plan, the State Government which is worried about the loss of learning skills among the children decided not to cut the syllabus. Instead, it has decided to hold the classes on Saturdays and Sundays to complete the syllabus.

Further, the State Government has decided to convey the meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to decide the formality to start the offline classes for students between Classes I and V. These students are now engaged in online classes.

“In next two days, a final decision will be taken,” explained Chief Minister Bommai as well as Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.

Midday meal scheme to resume

DPI directed all the school headmasters to be ready to start the midday meals from October 21. As per the circular issued by the department headmasters are informed that rice and wheat will be supplied at the earliest to the schools while dal and oil should be purchased locally.
