Bengaluru: Dr C.N. Manjunath, director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research has been selected to inaugurate Dasara 2020 at the top of the Chamundi Hills on October 17.
CM B.S. Yediyurappa himself made the selection from the list of candidates. Earlier, he had announced that a Covid-19 warrior will inaugurate the Dasara this year.
District in-charge Minister S T Somashekar told CityToday.com that the celebrations are being organised under the advice of the technical committee experts. He added that as per the guidelines issued, only 300 people will be allowed at the premises.
Five other Covid-19 warriors including Maragamma, a pourakarmika worker, Dr Naveen Kumar, a Covid-19 specialist, Rukmini, a staff nurse, Noor Jan, an ASHA worker, Kumar P, a police constable and Ayub Ahmed, a social activist will also be honoured on the occasion.
