Bengaluru: As a new development in the income tax case registered against State Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday, March 14, submitted a sealed cover containing the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) to the Karnataka High Court. Justice Aravind Kumar who went through the ECIR returned the documents to the ED stating that he will ask for the reports in future, if a requirement arises.
Urging the court not to grant any interim order, Additional Solicitor General Prabhuling K Navadagi stated that what’s been issued is just a summons and the enquiry could reveal further about the trail of illegal money.
Stating that the case is in the state of the preliminary investigation, the counsel submitted that no action had been taken against the petitioner nor any assets seized.
Justice Aravind Kumar has adjourned the case to March 18.
