ED summons Zameer Ahmed Khan for alleged involvement in IMA scam

Bengaluru: In a new lead to the IMA Jewels scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday, June 28, issued a summons to Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan.

Reportedly, Ahmed Khan has allegedly received funds from Mohammed Mansoor Khan, CEO of IMA, who is absconding in Dubai. Sources say that the ED is in the process of issuing Red Corner Notice against Mohammad Mansoor Khan and is also examining the possibility of invoking of Fugitive Economic Offenders Act.

Mohammed Mansoor Khan is absconding in Dubai after deceiving investors of crores of rupees in the IMA Jewels Scam.

According to reports, Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Anwar Manippady had demanded Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to sack Zameer Ahmed for his alleged involvement in the Ponzi scheme.

Zameer Ahmed is a cabinet minister in Karnataka government and former general secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Janata Dal (S). He was the minister for the Haj and Wakf Board for the state and MLA from Chamrajpet Constituency for three consecutive times.
