Bengaluru: Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will record Gauramma’s (85) statement at her Kanakapura residence. She is the mother of Congress troubleshooter D K Shivakumar, who is currently being investigated for alleged money laundering.
A single bench of the Karnataka High Court has issued a direction to the ED in this regard.
As per the direction, the ED shall question only Gauramma in the Kannada language. It shall also record the entire inquiry proceedings.
It can be recalled that the ED had summoned Gauramma for an inquiry on October 9, over charges of money laundering. She, however, challenged the summons citing her age and age-related ailments.
