Bengaluru: As Omicron cases is rising by the day, the State Primary and High School Education Department plans to reintroduce Vidyagama Scheme to enable continued education to students.
In a circular issued on Friday January 7, the Department has instructed all Block Education Officers, and schools to take steps to relaunch Vidyagama Scheme. The Government has already stopped offline classes to students from class I to IX in the City due to surge in cases. The department may extend the curb on offline classes through out the State.
According to circular, Vidyagama will be introduced in three methods. Offline classes should be taken to those students who are deprived of electronic equipment and network. Online classes can be taken for those students who have mobile and internet facilities. Finally, the recorded video lessons should be sent to those students who have no internet facility.
The circular has instructed teachers that they should create groups of students, and visit them daily or once in a week to solve any of their doubts.
Further, the Department has made it mandatory for students that they should give a letter of consent from parents. Under Vidyagama Scheme , students who will attend classes will be provided mid-day meals.
