A significant breakthrough came on November 8 when excise officials raided the warehouse of Sula Wine Yard Limited in Gangedoddi village, Maluru hobli. During the raid, around 140 boxes containing 2.95 lakh litres of premium wine from various brands were seized. The boxes lacked the necessary excise security seals and brand labels, which led to the confiscation of the goods. The value of the seized wine alone stands at ₹29.06 crore.

The operation underscores the state’s commitment to enforcing the model code of conduct during the by-election period, aiming to curb the illegal movement and storage of alcohol.
