Bengaluru: A major twist has come about in the fake lottery scam which rocked the state in 2015, resulting in the suspension of senior IPS officer Alok Kumar. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which investigated the case and filed a charge sheet, has now given the top cop a clean chit.
The CBI, in its charge sheet, named 10 police officers in the scam including then IGP Padmanayana. According to the charge sheet, it was a scam created to arrest a person by the name Parirajan.
Parirajan has also been given a clean chit in the scam.
Reacting to the developments, Alok Kumar stated that he went through a lot of pain for over 5 years due to the case. “The truth will always prevail,” he stated.
He also said that he is being targeted again, but he will face it.
