Bengaluru: A family from Shantinagar held a protest in front of the Rajbhavan on Sunday afternoon as several hospitals in the city declined to provide a bed for a family member suffering from breathing issues. Later Shantinagar MLA NA Haris intervened and arranged a bed in a private hospital of the city.
This high drama started around 1 pm on Sunday. The family which visited several hospitals futilely arrived at the Rajbhavan and stopped the vehicle on the roadside demanding help. After two hours Rajbhavan officials arranged a bed in a private hospital. By the time the family was able to reach the hospital, the bed was filled.
Local MLA N Harris who came to know about the crisis later arranged a bed in a private hospital in Mathikere.
This incident was reported two days after a youth held a protest in front of the CM’s residence on Racecourse road seeking justice for his child’s death as no hospital ready to provide treatment.
