Bengaluru: Tens of farmers organizations are holding a statewide protest today to oppose the farm bills. Farmers, Dalit, and like-minded organizations will hold a mammoth show of strength at freedom park.
According to the organizers, protests are planned across the state today after 10 am. “There will be no bandh. Only roadblocks. It is against the anti-farmer policies of the state and central governments,” said Badagalapura Nagendra, president of Rajya Raitha Sangha.
In Bengaluru, Congress and JDS leaders are extending their support to the protests. Congress MLAs have decided to raise the issue in the ongoing assembly session. Former CM Siddaramaiah will speak on the farm bills and how it will affect the farm sector.
