In a tragic incident in Amruthahalli, north Bengaluru, a 50-year-old man lost his life after being run over by a private water tanker on Thursday night. The Hebbal traffic police took immediate action by detaining the 20-year-old driver, Hussain Bhasha, impounding the vehicle, and issuing a notice to the tanker owner.
According to investigating officers, the victim, identified as Ravi, was walking with his son along the side of the road when the reversing water tanker struck him on 6th Cross Road, Amruthahalli, around 9:30 p.m. Ravi suffered severe injuries to his chest and thigh, while miraculously, his son escaped unharmed. Unfortunately, Ravi succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the driver for rash and negligent driving, along with charges of causing death by negligence under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
