Bengaluru: A minor fire broke out at the Anekal Government Hospital on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Tuesday morning, prompting hospital authorities to swiftly evacuate patients as a precautionary measure. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
According to officials from the Fire and Emergency Services Department, the control room received an emergency alert at 9.41 am, following which a fire tender was dispatched within a minute to the hospital.
Fire originated in mortuary room
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated in the hospital’s mortuary room. Firefighters responded promptly and brought the blaze under control before it could spread to other parts of the hospital.
Hospital staff acted quickly to move patients to safer areas, ensuring there was no risk to those receiving treatment.

Authorities confirmed that no patients, staff members or emergency personnel were injured during the incident. The timely response by the Fire and Emergency Services, along with the hospital administration, helped prevent a major mishap.
